Lourdes Pilgrimage 2026 Volunteer Training

All volunteers are required to attend one of the following training sessions:

Saturday 13 June 2026, 9:30am–12:00 noon Christ the King, Bromborough (CH62 6AT)
Saturday 27 June 2026, 9:30am–12:00 noon St Christopher’s Parish Centre, Romiley (SK6 3BA)

Each session concludes with Midday Mass and refreshments will be provided.

Attendance Requirement

Attendance at one of the above sessions is compulsory for all volunteers wishing to offer their services for the 2026 Lourdes Pilgrimage.

Online Training to be completed beforehand

British Lourdes Medical Association (BLMA) Training

The face-to-face sessions will provide an opportunity to raise questions about the pilgrimage and volunteer activities. Volunteers will also be required to complete relevant British Lourdes Medical Association (BLMA) e-learning modules.

BLMA Requirements
  • Volunteers who have not previously completed the BLMA training must complete the initial module.
  • Volunteers who completed the BLMA initial module in 2025 must complete the refresher module in 2026.
  • Youth volunteers who completed the refresher module in 2025 are not required to complete BLMA training in 2026.

Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency (CSSA) Training

All volunteers are also required to complete the Level 3 CSSA e-learning module.

  • Approximate completion time: 1 hour
  • Training can be completed in multiple sittings
  • Certification is monitored by the Diocesan Safeguarding Office
  • Renewal required every 3 years
