Franciscan at Home is formation partnership between the Diocese of Shrewsbury and the Catechetical Institute of Franciscan University of Steubenville. It provides anonline platform to access free formation for catechists and all Catholics in the Diocese of Shrewsbury.

The Diocese of Shrewsbury has partnered with the Catechetical Institute of Franciscan University of Steubenville to provide high-quality formation and support for those who share in the Church’s mission of evangelisation and catechesis.

Through Franciscan at Home, clergy, religious and lay faithful across the Diocese can access a rich and continually developing library of online formation workshops and Learning Tracks. These resources are designed to deepen knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith while equipping people with the practical skills and confidence needed to share that faith with others. The partnership supports the Diocese’s commitment to forming and accompanying catechists, parents, parish leaders and others involved in passing on the faith.

About the Catechetical Institute

The Catechetics Degree Programs and the Catechetical Institute (CI) at Franciscan University of Steubenville work together to prepare clergy, religious and laity to take up the call to be an “army of catechists”, helping the Church in her mission of making joyful disciples of Jesus Christ.

Formation brings together a thorough grounding in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the teaching of the Magisterium, alongside practical training in effective approaches to teaching and communicating the faith. In this way, those being formed are equipped to help others encounter the truth, goodness and beauty of God’s plan and to bear faithful witness to the life of grace in the Holy Spirit.
