Grotto Mass and Pilgrimage Celebration Garden Party
Pilgrims in Prayer | Mass at the Grotto 🙏⛪
This morning, pilgrims from the Diocese of Shrewsbury gathered at the very heart of Lourdes for Holy Mass at the Grotto, the sacred place where Our Lady appeared to St Bernadette.
Surrounded by prayer, faith and hope, we brought before the altar the intentions of our Diocese, our parishes, our families and all those who have asked to be remembered in prayer. At this holy place, generations of Shrewsbury pilgrims have entrusted their joys, sorrows and hopes to the loving care of Our Lady, and today, on our 75th Diocesan Pilgrimage, we continued that tradition.
This afternoon our 75th Anniversary Garden Party brought together Bishop Mark Davies, clergy, assisted pilgrims, volunteers, the Shrewsbury Youth Mission Team, and pilgrims of every generation in a wonderful celebration of faith, friendship and community.
There was music, laughter and plenty of smiles as we gave thanks for the thousands of pilgrims who have made this sacred journey over the past 75 years. It was a beautiful reminder that pilgrimage is not only about the places we visit, but about the people we journey with and the friendships formed in Christ.
As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we remember with gratitude everyone who has been part of the Diocese of Shrewsbury’s pilgrimage through the decades, and we look forward with hope to the generations of pilgrims still to come.
